Bandit 400 - little and light, but getting old. Bandit 600 - slightly higher than the Hornet and very heavy by comparison. SV650 - unfaired version ok but a bit more 'racing' position.
My 92 Suzuki Bandit 400 started making white smoke and it smells like antifreeze, especially around the exhaust on the heads, which leads me to suspect a head gasket. I'm debating whether to do this myself or have it done.

Buying a 400cc Bandit will turn you into a carburetor specialist within 3 months. They need lots of maintenance, unless you are a mechanic by trade, I would suggest buying a second hand 600cc. Dealer support is non existant for 400cc bikes in SA, they are all grey imports. If it does not fire then remove spark plug and hold the plug (nut portion) with the lead attached. u aginst side of the engine cylinder and turn over. iif ther is no spark you have an ignition problem.
